I sang for our GIs in the Vietnam War. There I saw children rummaging through garbage for food. A mother held out her hand and said, "We starve. Please, Lady." For years I carried the image of that poor mother and child. I wanted to help people like her but I didn't know where I could give my money and be sure it would do some good. Then I came in contact with David Livingstone.

Trip to Burundi, Africa PDF Print

Dwain traveled to Burundi, Africa to assess the needs of AIDS orphans there. Rev. Travis McManus, Rev. Rick Lee, and Pastor Darrel Blankenship accompanied Dwain on this trip. They witnessed hundreds of abandoned children scavenging the streets for food and shelter. After meeting with local officials and pastors, it was decided to start a feeding program for these desperate children under the name "African Children's Outreach."  Rev. Travis McManus serves as the President of African Children's Outreach (ACO) and headquarters in Mississippi.
